Author Bio:

Ekaterini (Kathy) Patlakis was born in Kalamata, Greece, in 1959. It was on a Saturday, at noon, when the sun shone it’s brightest on that hot July sunny day, overlooking the Mediterranean. No one would know of the star child, and what she was meant to do, or become in her own life, not even herself. For some lights are meant to shine so bright that no matter what, they cannot be contained in the dark. Her parents then decided to immigrate to the United States of America. It was in 1966, in the area of Chicago, Illinois. She was pushed to enter in marriage from the age of 15, then finally agreed and took her chances to enter into wedlock at about the age of 16, with a formal, and traditional marriage in the Greek-Orthodox fashion. She was faced with many deversities in her life, but her strong will, and faith, ensured her to pull through. With this to be able to live, and give inspiration to others in this life. To be able to tell her story so others can learn, without judgement, and to learn to become better human beings. It was written in part of her quest to tell her story, and the first edition to a hopeful series. Finally it had been published in January, of 2011. It is also filled with trying to bring into recognition with people who suffer with OCD. It is filled with this anguish, and pain with what others might know from their own selves in life. Something that is hidden, and very private, in ones lives. She hopes to someday discover recognition in her work as an author, in which she writes with much passion.
